Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Que Fecha handles information when you use our mobile app and related services. It is written for our current product features and may be updated as the app evolves.
1. Overview
Que Fecha is a marketplace that helps people discover and contact local event vendors (for example, bands, DJs, caterers, and photographers). We collect only the information needed to operate the app, keep accounts secure, show relevant listings, and support community features such as reviews and favorites.
2. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and password (stored securely by Firebase Authentication — we do not store plain-text passwords).
Profile information. You may upload a profile photo and choose a public display name. Usernames may be reserved to prevent duplicates.
Listing and user content. If you submit a vendor listing, we collect the information you provide, such as business name, category, description, location (city/state and service areas), contact details, pricing notes, photos, and video links.
Reviews and favorites. If you leave a review, we store your rating, optional comment, display name, and the date submitted. Saved favorites are linked to your account.
Location. With your permission, the app may use your device’s location to improve nearby search and distance display. You can also browse using a city or state you enter manually. Approximate location may be derived from listing city/state data and geocoding.
Push notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a device push token (FCM/APNs) linked to your account so we can send transactional alerts, such as listing review outcomes or admin notifications.
Technical data. Our infrastructure providers may automatically collect standard device and usage data needed to deliver the service (for example, IP address, app version, crash logs, and timestamps). We do not use the app to sell your personal information.
3. How we use information
- Create and manage your account
- Display vendor listings, search results, reviews, and favorites
- Moderate listings and reviews for safety and quality
- Send transactional notifications you opt into
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and duplicate accounts
- Improve reliability, security, and product experience
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms
4. How information is shared
Public marketplace content. Vendor listings approved or pending review may be visible to other users. Reviews you post are public and include your display name.
Service providers. We use Google Firebase and related Google Cloud services to host authentication, databases, file storage, cloud functions, and push messaging. Listing geocoding may use Google Maps Platform when a listing is approved. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users and the public, or to respond to valid legal requests.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Your choices
- Location: You can deny or revoke location permission in iOS Settings.
- Notifications: You can disable push notifications in iOS Settings.
- Profile: You can edit your profile in the app.
- Account deletion: Signed-in users can delete their account from Profile. Deletion removes your profile, favorites, username reservation, and unclaimed listings you submitted; photos stored for your account are deleted from our storage. Claimed listings you created may remain published with ownership unlinked rather than deleted, so community listings are not disrupted.
6. Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce policies, and comply with legal obligations. Moderation records (for example, rejected listings or review notes) may be retained for safety and audit purposes.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards through Firebase and access controls, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
8. Children
Que Fecha is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. California and U.S. privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us using the contact below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
10. International users
Que Fecha is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
